UK online gaming revenue grows 12% despite tax impact

Online gaming revenue in the UK grew by approximately 12% during the first full quarter under a new tax rate. However, major operators Entain and Evoke reported that the tax increase has impacted online profits. Both companies noted that promotional and marketing expenditures were the first costs to be reduced in response to the tax rise.

Regulatory updates include a shift in the deadline for deposit limit changes, which was moved from June 30, 2026, to September 30, 2026, to allow operators more time to adjust. Current UK Gambling Commission license conditions continue to prohibit UKGC-licensed operators from accepting or processing cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals.
