Technical studies evaluate mobile automotive repairs and green roof water harvesting
Academic research in Ecuador and Peru has explored new technical models for automotive service and environmental management. In Quito, Ecuador, a study conducted through UIDE evaluated the feasibility of a mobile service model for minor automotive cosmetic repairs at the Suzuki SZK dealership. The initiative aims to improve customer experience, reduce waiting times, and optimize the operational capacity of the body and paint department.
In the Yanacancha district of Pasco, Peru, research from the Universidad Nacional Daniel Alcides Carrión analyzed the performance of green roofs using Ray Grass (Lolium perenne) for rainwater harvesting. The study found that the green roof prototype retained an average of 26.54% of rainwater. Additionally, the system helped reduce turbidity and maintained water quality parameters, such as pH and temperature, within established regulatory standards.
