Technician drowns in Kuala Langat Power Plant cooling tower
A 34-year-old local contract technician, identified as Mohd. Farhan Syazwan, drowned after falling into a cooling tower tank at the Kuala Langat Power Plant. The incident occurred while the victim was performing maintenance work.
The victim disappeared while working alongside a colleague who had briefly stepped away to retrieve wood. Initially, the colleague believed the man had gone to the restroom, but growing concerns led to a report being made to a supervisor and subsequently to the fire department.
A search and rescue operation involving 12 personnel from the Banting Fire and Rescue Station and the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) from KLIA was launched. After the first tank was emptied without success, rescuers pumped out a second tank with a depth of 10 meters, where the victim's body was discovered at approximately 4:00 AM. The body has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
