Technics and Sonos debut new flagship wireless headphones
Technics and Sonos have both introduced new flagship wireless noise-cancelling headphones priced at $449.
Technics has debuted the EAH-A1000, which utilizes a 40mm Magnetic Fluid driver containing a specialized liquid designed to reduce distortion and expand the soundstage. The headphones support Hi-Res LDAC, lossless playback via USB-C, and head-tracked Dolby Atmos spatial audio. They also feature a ‘flow arm’ design and can pair with up to three devices simultaneously.
Sonos has released the Ace Ultra, the second-generation successor to the original Ace. This model features redesigned 40mm drivers, improved battery life, and Adaptive ANC. The Ace Ultra offers expanded sound controls, including three-band and eight-band EQ adjustments, and includes Adaptive EQ to compensate for fit changes caused by hair or glasses. It supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos, with general availability scheduled for September 29, 2026.
