Technics releases limited SL-1200 turntables for 55th anniversary

Panasonic is releasing limited-edition Technics SL-1200 series direct-drive turntables to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the product line. The new models, SL-1200M7GLN and SL-1200M7G, are based on the 2019 SL-1200MK7.

The SL-1200M7GLN is a full gold-specification model inspired by the DMC (Disco Mix Club) champion models. The SL-1200M7G series features six limited colors: blue, red, black, grey, white, and green. All models include gold-colored components from the tonearm to the headshell, and the top panels are engraved with a “Gold Edition” inscription and a serial number.

In Japan, production is limited to 500 units of the SL-1200M7GLN and 100 units per color for the SL-1200M7G. The series has a significant history in club and studio environments, with approximately 3.5 million units shipped globally since its inception in 1972.
