Technological Gate inaugurated to support Greek SMEs

Stavros Kalafatis, the Deputy Minister of Development responsible for Research and Innovation, inaugurated the ‘Technological Gate’ during the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair. This new structure serves as a joint initiative between the three largest Chambers of Crafts and Trades in Greece: Athens, Thessaloniki, and Piraeus.

Kalafatis emphasized that the initiative allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to unify their voices, collaborate more effectively, and present well-documented proposals to the state. He encouraged the chambers to focus on future developments involving new technologies and Artificial Intelligence, suggesting collaboration with the Hellenic Centre for Environmental Research and Innovation (EKETA) to reduce operating costs and boost competitiveness.

Regarding recent economic measures announced by the Prime Minister, Kalafatis stated that the 2.2 billion euro package is calculated and targeted toward citizens in need without disrupting fiscal balance. He reaffirmed the state's commitment to acting as a strategic ally for Greek industry.
