Technological innovations advance global water treatment and recovery

Various technological advancements are being implemented to improve water management and treatment efficiency. In Yantzaza, Ecuador, new modules have arrived for the Drinking Water Treatment Plant. These components aim to eliminate impurities and prevent service interruptions by adding additional purification stages to existing small-scale plants.

In Chile, the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC) has validated the LiSa® technology at a pilot scale (TRL7). This innovation is designed to recover water from lithium brines, offering a solution for water-stressed regions where lithium mining operations coexist with high demand for water resources.

Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric is promoting the development of smart water treatment plants. By utilizing industrial connectivity, automation, and real-time data analysis, these systems aim to optimize energy consumption, provide predictive maintenance, and ensure more reliable control over processes such as filtration, disinfection, and sludge management.
