Technology parks in Saquarema and Angra dos Reis launch innovation initiatives

The municipality of Saquarema has opened a public call to select companies and institutions to occupy spaces within its new Technology Park. Located in the Cidade da Educação, the 2,000 square meter facility will offer coworking spaces, private offices, and support for startup incubation and research. The project aims to attract over 15 companies within the next 12 months, with an expected investment of R$ 12.8 million and the creation of more than 200 direct jobs. Key focus areas include the blue economy, health, sports, technology, tourism, and smart cities.

In Angra dos Reis, the Secretariat of Planning and Management has launched a new public notice for its Sea Technology Park startup incubation program. Unlike previous iterations restricted to maritime sectors, the new call is open to all technological fields, including logistics, energy, food, and sustainability. While the program is open to all, projects related to the blue economy, such as aquaculture, offshore oil and gas, and maritime logistics, will receive additional scoring points. The program provides selected startups with structure, guidance, and training to foster regional economic and socio-environmental impact.
