Technology retailers expand presence in Peru

Telecommunications provider Movistar has opened its first Express format store in Piura, Peru. Located on Av. Loreto, the new outlet is designed to provide rapid service for contracting services and purchasing equipment or accessories. This expansion is part of a strategy to improve customer experience by placing stores in high-traffic commercial areas and offering technological accessories such as headphones, speakers, and virtual reality lenses.

Meanwhile, Mexican electronics retailer Steren is expanding its footprint in Peru. After one year of operations with two stores in Lima, the company aims to reach up to 20 stores in the country by 2030. Steren reported a 12% growth in September, driven by seasonal campaigns and an expanded product portfolio. The company is seeing significant growth in its Smart Home category and continues to introduce new products to the Peruvian market, with over 98% of its catalog consisting of private-label brands.
