Tecka honors Malvinas War hero Ricardo Andrés Austin
A new bust was unveiled at Provincial School No. 17 in Tecka to honor Ricardo Andrés Austin, a soldier from Chubut who died in combat during the Falklands War on May 28, 1982.
The ceremony held significant emotional weight as it coincided with what would have been Austin’s 63rd birthday. The event was attended by his family, local authorities, and eight of his former comrades. Among those present was his former superior, Juan José Gómez Centurión.
The bust was transported to the location by members of the Romeo Section of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment 25. This tribute follows previous efforts by the Chubut Government and the Municipality of Tecka to preserve Austin's legacy, including the inauguration of a monument earlier this year.
