Teckl the dachshund named official mascot for 2027 IIHF World Championship

The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship 2027 in Germany has unveiled its official mascot, a dachshund named Teckl. Designed to be a modern and spirited ambassador for the host nation, Teckl is characterized as brave, intelligent, and energetic, with a specific focus on chasing pucks rather than traditional hunting.

Claus Gröbner, Managing Director of the organizing committee, stated that the mascot provides an unmistakable connection to Germany while possessing a strong, independent character. The choice of a dachshund aims to appeal to fans of all ages by aligning with the tournament’s ‘Festival of Friendship’ theme.
