Tecámac authorities investigate shooting death of pitbull
In Tecámac, State of Mexico, a pitbull known as ‘El Güero’ was killed after being shot multiple times in a residential area of Valle San Pedro Urbi Villa del Campo. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and subsequently found the animal with wounds to its body and neck.
Complainants have identified a neighbor, Willi Adrián ‘N’, as the alleged perpetrator. One caretaker reported seeing the individual with a firearm and claimed the suspect stated the dog had bitten his son. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the individual firing at the dog. The suspect is alleged to be a member of the State of Mexico Security Secretariat, though this remains to be confirmed by authorities. The case has been reported to the Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México (FGJEM) for animal cruelty.
‘El Güero’ had been cared for by local residents for approximately eighteen months after being abandoned by a previous owner.
