TecNM Culiacán expands renewable energy research infrastructure
The Instituto Tecnológico de Culiacán has expanded its research capabilities in renewable energy and microgrids through the acquisition of new equipment at the Center for Research, Innovation, and Technological Development (CIIDETec).
Director Francisca Piña Zazueta oversaw the delivery of a 5 kW LifePO4 battery bank and a 5 kW solar inverter. This infrastructure complements the existing 5 kW photovoltaic system, enhancing the center's ability to study energy storage, conversion, and management. The new setup will support research into isolated generation systems, energy backup, microgrids, and power electronics, providing practical experimental platforms for Master's and Doctoral students.
