Tecno unveils Pova 8 Pro smartphone with rear Mini LED display

Tecno has officially unveiled the Pova 8 Pro, a smartphone designed with a focus on gaming and a futuristic “interstellar spaceship” aesthetic. The device features a unique “Alive Matrix Display” on the rear, a customizable Mini LED panel integrated into the triangular camera module that can show notifications and animations.

Technically, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. To enhance gaming performance, it includes a dedicated P1 graphics chip capable of supporting up to 144 FPS in certain titles. The front features a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Other notable specifications include a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, a 50MP main camera with OIS using a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, and high durability ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. The device runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16. A Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition is also available, featuring an exclusive black design. The standard model is scheduled for launch in India on August 18.
