Ted Lasso returns for Season 4 with focus on women's soccer

The Apple TV+ series ‘Ted Lasso’ has returned for its fourth season, which premiered on August 5, 2026. This new installment follows Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, as he moves from Kansas back to London to coach the Lady Greyhounds, the inaugural women’s professional soccer team for AFC Richmond.

While Apple TV+ has not officially greenlit a fifth season, Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, expressed optimism regarding a renewal. Cue stated, “I hope so. It’s certainly good enough for that. So I think there are plenty of stories to go on.” This sentiment aligns with reports that the core cast may have contractual agreements allowing for further seasons.

Season four features new characters, including assistant coach Alice Chilton, played by Tanya Reynolds, and a cast of new players. The season is scheduled to release weekly episodes through October 7, 2026. While the show has received praise for its charm, some critics have noted a shift in tone regarding its handling of social themes and women's sports.
