Teddy bear events and fundraisers announced for children's support

The Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) in Orangeville, Canada, will host its Teddy Bear Clinic on September 19. This free event allows children to explore healthcare settings through play by guiding stuffed animals through simulated hospital processes, including triage, diagnostic imaging, and checkups. The clinic aims to reduce anxiety and build familiarity with medical environments. Activities include visits to a simulated pharmacy, hygiene lessons, a petting zoo, and interactions with local emergency services. Proceeds from food and beverage sales will support pediatric patients at HHCC.

In the United States, Build-A-Bear Workshop is holding a fundraiser for the Build-A-Bear Foundation to honor National Teddy Bear Day. From September 9 to September 16, guests can donate via in-store pin pads or online. For every dollar donated, the Foundation will donate a teddy bear to a children’s hospital. The retailer is also offering a discount on Lil’ Cub bears during the celebration.
