Teddy Riner visits Egypt's Al Alamein for judo showcase

The North Coast city of Al Alamein hosted French judo legend and Olympic champion Teddy Riner as part of the "Yalla Sahel" sports initiative. The event was organized by Egypt's Ministry of Youth and Sports, the United Sports Company and the Egyptian Judo Federation, with sponsorship from the Administrative Capital Urban Development Company.

Minister Joher Nabil, United Sports Company head Mohamed Yehia Lotfi and Judo Federation president Mohamed Mutiâ attended. Egyptian junior and youth national team members, fresh from the African Championships in Morocco where they earned 28 medals, took part in an exhibition match against Riner. The programme aims to raise Egypt's profile as a destination for international sports events and to provide direct exposure for local athletes to world‑class competitors.
