TEDI road safety campaign launches in Varna

The road safety educational campaign ‘Cross Safely with TEDI’ has launched for its seventh consecutive year, starting in Varna at the ‘Petko Slaveykov’ primary school. The initiative aims to teach Bulgarian children essential road safety rules, including how to behave as pedestrians, drivers, and passengers using bicycles or scooters.

Organized by Timbark Bulgaria in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Interior, the program has reached over 60,000 students from grades one to three since 2019. The campaign recently expanded to include approximately 1,000 kindergarten children in Plovdiv and Sofia through a pilot program, with plans to include more kindergartens nationwide next year.

The campaign utilizes a hybrid format, combining practical lessons led by National Police experts in various regional cities with free interactive multimedia lessons available to all schools and kindergartens in the country. This digital platform allows children to practice safety scenarios, supplemented by online tests to reinforce their learning.
