Tee Kai Wun and Yap Roy King win Korea Masters men's doubles

Malaysian men's doubles pair Tee Kai Wun and Yap Roy King captured their maiden title at the 2026 Korea Masters. The duo, paired together only a month ago as an experimental combination by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), defeated fellow Malaysians Soh Wooi Yik and Man Wei Chong in the final with a score of 21-13, 21-18.

The victory marks only the second time Malaysia has won a title at the Korea Masters since the tournament's inception 19 years ago. Tee and Yap secured the win in 31 minutes at the Gimnasium Yi Sun-sin in Asan, South Korea, earning US$18,959 in prize money.

The tournament featured several experimental scratch pairings by Malaysia as the national coaching panel evaluates different combinations in preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Following this event, Tee Kai Wun is expected to resume his regular partnership with Man Wei Chong, while Soh Wooi Yik will reunite with Aaron Chia for the upcoming World Championships.
