Teemu Suninen leads Rally Ceredigion in Wales
Teemu Suninen has taken a commanding lead at the Rally Ceredigion in Wales, a key round in the European Rally Championship. After securing the fastest time in the qualifying session, Suninen maintained his momentum through the first day of competition, which included double superspecials and two night stages.
Suninen currently holds a narrow 0.9-second lead over Kris Meeke. He has established a significant gap of 14 seconds over his main championship rival, Andrea Mabellini, who sits in fifth place. Miko Marczyk remains in third place, trailing by 7.5 seconds.
The varying conditions in Wales, described by Suninen as being similar to Monte Carlo due to fluctuating grip levels between muddy and dry sections, have added complexity to the event. The rally continues with further stages scheduled through Sunday.
