Teemu Suninen targets Barum Czech Rally Zlín after ERC win in Poland

Teemu Suninen, the current leader of the European Rally Championship (ERC), is preparing for the Barum Czech Rally Zlín. Following a victory in Poland with his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, Suninen has established a 23-point lead in the championship standings.

Suninen, accompanied by co-driver Antti Haapala, expressed caution regarding the upcoming Czech event. He noted the high difficulty of the 205.79-kilometer route, which is characterized by fast forest sections, narrow village roads, uneven asphalt, and unpredictable weather. He indicated that his recent success in Poland was intended to provide a points cushion, allowing for a more measured approach in the challenging Zlín environment.

In the previous Polish rally, Suninen secured his first ERC win, while Andrea Mabellini and Miko Marczyk rounded out the podium in second and third places, respectively.
