Teen and 5‑Year‑Old Hospitalized After Separate Vehicle Accidents in Brazil

A 15‑year‑old girl was severely injured when an SUV lost control and entered the sidewalk in front of Colégio Arena in Goiânia. The teenager suffered leg injuries, required surgery and will use a wheelchair during a recovery period of at least 45 days, followed by physiotherapy. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the driver’s loss of control.

In Niterói, a 5‑year‑old girl was struck by a pickup truck in the Piratininga neighbourhood. She was taken to a local urgent‑care unit before being transferred to the Hospital Estadual Alberto Torres in São Gonçalo, where she remains in serious condition. The cause of the collision is still under review by local officials.
