Teen faces new charges in fatal Crescent Head crash

An 18-year-old driver, Maddison Jayne Martin, faces additional charges following a fatal single-vehicle crash at Crescent Head. The new charges include dangerous driving occasioning death and grievous bodily harm while under the influence, as well as violating high-performance vehicle restrictions while on P-plates.

The incident occurred on Point Plomer Road on March 6, when a vehicle left the road and struck a tree, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old female passenger and serious injuries to two other occupants. The matter has been adjourned in Port Macquarie Local Court, with a committal hearing scheduled for October 8.
