Teen motorcyclist killed after evading truck on Mato Grosso highway

Eighteen‑year‑old Camilly Carpinski Igino died on 18 June 2026 while riding on the MT‑208 highway between Alta Floresta and Carlinda, Mato Grosso. A grain truck entered the lane heading opposite traffic, prompting her to swerve onto the wrong side of the road where she collided head‑on with a car. The car driver reported the incident, which was corroborated by a 32‑year‑old witness.

Police are investigating the crash as involuntary homicide. The car driver refused a breath‑alcohol test and was found to have an irregular vehicle registration, leading to the vehicle’s removal. Both vehicles were heavily damaged. The driver received medical treatment for a left forearm injury before being taken to the Alta Floresta police station for further procedures.
