Teen Shaun Narloch loses leg after Dublin hit‑and‑run

Eighteen‑year‑old Shaun Narloch was riding his motorcycle in Ballymun, Dublin, when a driver of an SUV failed to stop after striking him on the evening of Easter Monday, 10 April 2026. The crash left him with severe injuries, including kidney failure, muscle damage, sepsis and a shattered right ankle. He was placed in an induced coma for two weeks and subsequently had his left leg amputated. After spending exactly 100 days at Dublin’s Mater Hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries, he returned home to Finglas.

His mother, Aga Narloch, said she remains on “high alert”, replaying the incident and feeling an overwhelming need to keep Shaun close. She reflected, “It has changed not only Shaun’s life but our whole family’s… we question ourselves as parents.” The driver of the SUV has not been identified, and the case remains a suspected hit‑and‑run.
