Teen stabbing incidents in Lancashire and Somerset raise UK safety concerns

A 17‑year‑old girl of Pakistani heritage was stabbed twice in the neck in Brierfield, Lancashire. Police arrested a 30‑year‑old British‑born man of Pakistani heritage on suspicion of attempted murder. In a separate case, a 16‑year‑old boy pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter after fatally stabbing nine‑year‑old Aria Thorpe in the chest at a house in Weston‑super‑Marine, North Somerset.
