Teen suspect detained after deadly stabbing at Samsun concert

During a Derya Uluğ concert in the Batıpark area of Samsun's İlkadım district, 21‑year‑old M.H. was attacked with a knife, receiving six wounds that caused severe lung damage and required hospitalization.

Police initially detained four 17‑year‑old suspects—U.G., K.O., A.M.K.K., and U.K.E. Two were released on judicial control, while the others were sent to Kavak Juvenile Detention. After being re‑examined by a child prosecutor, U.G. confessed to carrying out the stabbing and was remanded to the same juvenile facility. K.O. was again placed under judicial control and released.

The case has sparked criticism of security measures at the Samsun Cultural Road Festival, where similar violent incidents have occurred in recent years.
