Teenage Fanclub announces 13th album ‘Do Not Dare To Dream’
Scottish band Teenage Fanclub will release their 13th studio album, titled ‘Do Not Dare To Dream’, on October 9, 2026, via Merge Records. The project marks a continuation of the musical partnership between Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley, who have performed together for 37 years.
The album features a shift toward more introspective lyrics and a folk-pop sound with psychedelic influences. Recorded on the island of Great Bernera, the tracks move away from the band’s traditional jangle-pop riffs in favor of pastoral tones and melodic complexity. The title is derived from the song ‘I Do Not Dare To Dream’, a track described as an anthemic piece driven by acoustic and electric guitars.
Despite the title, the record is described as resolute rather than pessimistic, offering a calm reflection on the state of the world. The album includes ten tracks, such as ‘There Was You’, ‘Tomorrow People’, and ‘Take Time’.
