Teenage Fanclub announces new album ‘Do Not Dare To Dream’

Indie rock band Teenage Fanclub has announced their 13th studio album, titled ‘Do Not Dare To Dream’, scheduled for release on October 9th via Merge Records. The announcement includes the release of a new single, ‘There Was You’, which serves as the melodic opening track of the upcoming record.

Following their 2023 release ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’, the new album continues the band’s signature style of melodic guitars and warm harmonies. Band member Norman Blake noted that the album title reflects a pushback against hollow optimism, opting instead for a grounded sense of resilience and clarity in an uncertain world.

The recording process for the album involved a collective approach, with the band members working together in the same room to arrange songs. The accompanying music video for ‘There Was You’ was filmed at Black Bay Studio on Great Bernera.
