Teenage girl dies after falling from three-storey house in Grandpass

A 15-year-old girl, identified as M. Rushdha Radha, died after falling from the third floor of a residential building in the Grandpass area of Colombo. The incident occurred on the evening of the 27th of last month.

The girl had been living under the care of her grandmother while her parents were working in Qatar. Her grandmother, who was at home at the time, discovered the girl after hearing a sudden sound. Although she was rushed to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Borella, she passed away shortly after arriving.

Grandpass Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the fall and whether the death was accidental. Statements have been recorded from the girl's grandmother, her uncle, and other individuals. A magisterial inquiry is scheduled to take place.
