Teenager confesses to killing mother in Portugal

A 15-year-old boy has confessed to killing his mother in Algés, Oeiras, during an incident on August 13. According to defense attorney Cristiana Carvalho, the teenager admitted to the crime via a letter of request during a Public Ministry interrogation, describing the act as one of desperation.

The homicide reportedly occurred within a context of domestic violence. The youth killed his mother using a chokehold. He is currently held at the Olivais educational center in Coimbra and has undergone psychiatric evaluations at the Institute of Legal Medicine. His educational detention measure is scheduled for review in November.
