Teenager dies after falling from coastal path in Saint-Raphaël

A 17-year-old girl died after falling from a coastal path into the sea near Saint-Raphaël in the Var department on Monday afternoon. The accident occurred around 3:00 PM when the teenager and her 9-year-old sister fell from the path, which borders the Mediterranean coast.

Emergency services, including Var firefighters and Cross Méditerranée, launched a coordinated rescue operation involving maritime and aerial assets, including an H160 helicopter and divers.
