Anápolis police rescue 13-year-old girl held captive in abandoned house

A 13-year-old girl, Ana Clara Alves Silva, has been rescued in Anápolis, Goiás, after being found held captive in an abandoned building. The girl had been missing since Sunday, August 6, after leaving her home following contact with a man on the Discord platform.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man in flagrante for false imprisonment and statutory rape. Investigators found the girl locked inside the property from the outside with a chain and padlock. The suspect, who was located at his workplace, reportedly convinced the teenager to flee her home by making false promises, including a claim that he would take her to live in Canada.

Before her disappearance, the girl left a farewell letter for her sister, stating she was leaving with someone she loved and expressing uncertainty about returning. Authorities noted that the suspect had instructed her to break her cell phone to prevent tracking and had even analyzed local security cameras to avoid detection. The teenager has received psychological care and is being reunited with her family.
