Teenager in critical condition after e-scooter crash in Co Longford

A male e-scooter driver in his late teens is in critical condition following a single-vehicle collision on Battery Road in Co Longford. The incident occurred on Friday night at approximately 10:40 pm.

The driver was initially taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A female passenger, also in her teens, was treated at Regional Hospital Mullingar for injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

Battery Road remains closed as Garda forensic collision investigators conduct a technical examination. Local diversions are in place. An Garda Síochána is appealing to witnesses and road users with dash-cam footage from the vicinity between 10:15 pm and 10:45 pm to come forward.
