Teenager sentenced for stabbing Welsh teacher in the head
A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to four and a half years in youth detention for stabbing a teacher in the head at Milford Haven Comprehensive School in Wales. The incident occurred on February 5, when the teenager, who was 15 at the time, reportedly asked history teacher Vicki Williams to check his homework before leading her into an empty classroom and attacking her with a kitchen knife.
At Swansea Crown Court, a jury found the boy guilty of wounding with intent but acquitted him of attempted murder. During the proceedings, Judge Paul Thomas KC noted that it was ‘pure luck’ the attack did not result in fatal injuries, stating the defendant had clearly planned the incident.
Vicki Williams, who sustained injuries to her head, back, and hands, testified that she feared for her life during the attack. She stated she is now undergoing therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder.
