Ștefan Câlția donates painting to Brukenthal National Museum

Artist Ștefan Câlția has donated the painting ‘Cleopatra și fata cu aripi’ (Cleopatra and the Girl with Wings) to the Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu. The work was previously part of the ‘Transilvania | Extravaganza’ exhibition held at the Ursuline Monastery.

The donation aims to enrich the museum's heritage with a piece that holds significant personal meaning for the artist. Câlția has noted that the story of Cleopatra, inspired by a circus figure from his childhood, served as one of his earliest encounters with painting.
