Štefan Margita documentary to premiere on Czech Television

The documentary film ‘Štefan Margita – Čas přítomnosti’ (Štefan Margita – Time of Presence) is set to premiere on Czech Television (ČT1) on September 5 at 21:00. Directed by Natálie Císařovská, the film provides an intimate portrait of the internationally renowned opera singer during a pivotal year in his life.

The documentary captures several major milestones, including the singer's 70th birthday and his decision to retire from the opera stage. His final major operatic role will be Loge in Richard Wagner’s ‘Das Rheingold’ at the National Theatre.

Beyond his professional achievements, the film offers a glimpse into Margita’s private life, featuring reflections from close friends and memories of his life partner, Hana Zagorová. Dramaturg Eliška Faeklová describes the subject as an extraordinary talent who possesses both musical gift and a great sense of humor.
