Teófilo Dávila Hospital receives USD 238,000 for hemodialysis supplies

The Teófilo Dávila General Hospital in Machala has received a USD 238,000 investment from the Ministry of Public Health to bolster its Hemodialysis Unit. This funding covers essential sanitary materials, including acid concentrates, bicarbonate solutions, fistulas, arterial needles, dialysis lines, dialyzers, and compatible catheters.

According to hospital manager José García Flores, these supplies are expected to maintain the unit's operational coverage for approximately three months. The specialized service currently treats 92 patients and has performed roughly 7,000 hemodialysis sessions so far in 2026. This budgetary injection is part of a contingency plan by the Ministry of Public Health to sustain high-complexity services in the El Oro province.
