Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival announces 2026 program

The 23rd International Mountain Film Festival Tegernsee is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18, 2026. The event will feature 88 productions over five days, focusing on mountain adventures and the experiences of daring explorers.

The opening night will showcase two films by local filmmakers: “Six Days to the Edge” by Valentin Rapp and the short film “Forever Young” by Moritz Attenberger. Rapp’s film follows a crew spanning a highline over the Salto Ángel waterfall in Venezuela, while Attenberger’s work documents a road trip through the Bolivian Altiplano. Both films address logistical challenges alongside political contexts, including social unrest in Bolivia and military tensions in Venezuela.

Festival director Tom Dauer noted that the selection of these local filmmakers highlights the core motivation of mountain filmmaking: exploring new worlds through adventure. The program will be available in late August, with ticket pre-sales beginning on September 11.
