Deutsche Bahn plans 22 new rail stops in Swabia

Deutsche Bahn and the State of Bavaria are planning 22 new regional train stops in the Swabia region, including locations such as Kaufbeuren, Memmingen, and Lindau. However, progress remains slow, with many commissioning dates still unconfirmed. Additionally, approximately 50 existing stations in the region are slated for modernization, though timelines for these renovations are also uncertain.

Reports indicate that DB Infrago had not utilized 446 million euros in federal funds for station improvements by the end of last year. While these funds do not expire, the delay impacts the pace of nationwide station renovations. Federal investment is currently focused primarily on repairing existing rail networks rather than the construction of new lines, which remains a financial challenge for expanding regional infrastructure.
