TEGNA stations win four National Edward R. Murrow Awards

TEGNA Inc. announced that its stations have received four 2026 National Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in broadcast journalism. The awards, sponsored by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), recognize outstanding achievements in digital and broadcast news.

Among the winners, KARE in Minneapolis earned the Hard News award for Large Market Television for “A Perfect Heart.” The investigation detailed allegations involving the Mayo Clinic regarding a heart transplant and the reporting of post-transplant failure to the FDA.

WFAA in Dallas received the Continuing Coverage award for Large Market Television for “Unlicensed and Unchecked.” This reporting uncovered a network of unlicensed facilities and unregulated placement agents involving elderly and disabled residents, which contributed to the signing of two new bills in Texas.
