Tegoprazan shows efficacy in Phase 3 NERD clinical trials

Phase 3 TRIUMpH-NERD trial data indicates that tegoprazan, an investigational potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), significantly increases heartburn-free and regurgitation-free days in adults with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) compared to a placebo.

Presented at the American College of Gastroenterology 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting, the study showed that both 50 mg and 100 mg once-daily doses improved nighttime heartburn and regurgitation, with effects visible from the first day of treatment. NERD represents up to 70% of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) patients, many of whom experience limited relief from standard proton pump inhibitors.

The trial involved 783 adults across 91 US sites. Following an initial 4-week treatment phase, 699 patients proceeded to a 20-week extension phase.
