Tegucigalpa launches Sueño STEM robotics program for students
The Alcaldía Municipal del Distrito Central (AMDC) has partnered with Siena Callizo, a Honduran student at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), to launch ‘Sueño STEM’. This initiative aims to introduce science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to schoolchildren in the capital city.
The program is designed to provide students with practical robotics experiences to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and engineering mindsets. To support the initiative, Siena Callizo and her professor, Bradley Miller, are donating robots to ensure children have early contact with technological tools.
By focusing on digital and global competencies, the program seeks to prepare the youth of Tegucigalpa for the opportunities presented by the modern digital economy.
