Colombian Army Seizes Large Weapons Cache from Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra in Santander

In a joint operation by the Colombian Army’s 5th Brigade and the National Police’s Gaula unit, authorities uncovered an illegal weapons depot belonging to the armed group Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra (ACS) in the rural vereda Llaneros of Rionegro, Santander. The raid seized more than 1,000 cartridges of various calibers, three tactical vests, distinctive ACS clothing, and a communications kit. All material was handed over to the Fiscalía General de la Nación for judicial processing. The operation is part of the government’s Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, aimed at weakening the logistical and operational capacity of illegal armed groups in Colombia’s northeast.

Officials said the seizure represents a significant blow to the ACS, limiting its ability to carry out criminal actions that threaten public safety and the armed forces.
