Tegucigalpa municipality announces tax amnesty program

The Municipal Mayor's Office of the Central District (AMDC) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, has announced a municipal tax amnesty program to assist taxpayers in regularizing their fiscal obligations. The program covers accumulated debts up to December 31, 2025.

Under this measure, taxpayers are exempt from paying interests, fines, and surcharges on these debts. The amnesty period is scheduled to remain in effect until October 12, 2026. Juan Carlos Callizo, the municipality's manager of Revenue and Financial Control, noted that for those unable to settle their debts in a single lump sum, payment arrangements are available to help citizens meet their obligations.

Payments can be processed through any of the banking institutions authorized by the municipality. The administration stated that the funds collected through this initiative are essential for continuing urban development projects and programs aimed at improving living conditions in the Central District.
