Tehi Tunnel successful tower wagon trial on Indore-Dahod rail line
A significant milestone has been reached in the Indore-Dahod new rail line project with the successful trial of a tower wagon through the Tehi tunnel. The tunnel, measuring approximately 2,957 meters in length, saw the tower wagon travel from the P-1 end at Tehi to the P-2 end toward Pithampur.
The successful track linking at both ends of the tunnel allowed for the inspection of the installed tracks and related rail infrastructure. This trial was conducted in the presence of Chief Engineer Dheeraj Kumar and Deputy Chief Engineer Ankur Singh.
Following this technical success, railway officials are preparing for an inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) scheduled for late October. This inspection is a mandatory step to verify safety standards and technical aspects before passenger train services can commence. The completion of this 47-kilometer rail section is expected to improve connectivity between Indore and Dhar and provide logistical benefits to the Pithampur industrial area.
