Tehničko veleučilište u Zagrebu to launch video game studies in Novska
The Technical University of Zagreb (TVZ) has announced the launch of an undergraduate study program dedicated to video game development in Novska. The program is part of the Gaming Industry Center project, a strategic initiative involving the Regional Coordinator of Sisak-Moslavina County, the SIMORA Development Agency, and the City of Novska.
The first cohort of students is expected to enroll in the 2028/2029 academic year, with an initial capacity of approximately 50 students per generation. The project includes the construction of a campus featuring teaching facilities, a student dormitory with 202 beds, a sports hall, and a semi-Olympic swimming pool.
The first phase of the project is valued at 38.6 million euros, with the European Commission recently approving 37 million euros in state aid for the second phase. Officials, including Minister of Science, Education and Youth Radovan Fuchs, described the initiative as a visionary step to position Novska as a hub for the rapidly growing global gaming industry.
