Tehnološki park Varaždin launches new solar power plant
Tehnološki park Varaždin has commissioned a new solar power plant to bolster its renewable energy capacity. The project involved the installation of 153 photovoltaic modules with a capacity of 60 kW on the facility's roof.
Combined with an existing 10 kW solar plant, the total capacity of the park now reaches 70 kW. This setup is expected to produce approximately 5,334.25 kWh of electricity per month. The initiative was co-financed by the City of Varaždin with an investment of 48,234.11 euros, following a 10,257.25 euro roof renovation funded by the park itself.
The primary objective of the investment is to mitigate rising energy costs and prevent increases in business space rental prices for local entrepreneurs. Mayor Neven Bosilj noted that the city continues to support a green agenda through renewable energy investments in public institutions. Additionally, the city is currently selecting a contractor for the expansion of the park, known as the ‘Innocent Innovation Center’, located at the former Varteks restaurant site.
