Tehran Air Ambulance services facilitate critical organ transplants

Mohammad Qaderi, head of the Tehran Province Air Ambulance, has detailed the critical role of aerial medical services in transporting patients and donated organs. In emergency situations where traffic and geographic distances pose risks, air ambulances are essential for minimizing transit time.

During heart transplant missions, time is the most critical factor. Donated hearts must be kept in specialized cooling containers and transported rapidly to ensure they remain viable for surgery. The process requires precise coordination between organ retrieval teams, flight crews, airport personnel, and both the originating and destination hospitals to prevent delays that could render the organ unusable.
