Tehran International Short Film Festival features new entries
Several short films have been highlighted in connection with the 43rd Tehran International Short Film Festival.
The film ‘Gulls Sleep Standing’ (Ghoohâ Istâde Mikhâband), written, produced, and directed by Musa Razavi, has entered the competition section of the festival. This follows the film's previous recognition at the 72nd Arvand Regional Youth Cinema Festival, where it received awards for best directing and best original screenplay, and was nominated for best editing and cinematography.
Additionally, the teaser for the short film ‘Gore’ has been released ahead of its screening at the festival. Directed and written by Marjan Ashrafi-Zadeh, the film is set in the nature of Gilan and follows a narrative involving a cow named Hanna. ‘Gore’ is scheduled to compete in both the Iranian Cinema competition and the International Cinema competition, where it will vie for Oscar consideration alongside filmmakers from 29 countries.
